40 Books That Shaped My 40s

As I head into my last two months in my 40s, I’ve compiled a list of books that have shaped me, opened my eyes, made me think critically, brought tears of joy to my eyes, and helped me grow.

To be clear, I’ve read way (way!) more than 40 books in the last ten years. There are too many to count, including ones about homeschooling, parenting, health, cookbooks, and oodles of fiction.

Books are the foundation of my personal development as a certified life coach, space holder, and writer.

The books below stand out in my mind and my heart. I used Chat GPT to alphabetize and organize the list, and I’ve added some personal notes to several books for additional insight.

The highlighted books are ones by people I know. I’m fortunate to have such wonderful and creative souls to connect with.

Lastly, I’m not an Amazon affiliate, and I’ve not linked the books in the interest of my time and energy. I will share a link to Thrift Books, where I buy almost all of my second-hand books for me and my kids.

Have you read any of these books? What books have shaped you over the last decade?

Happy reading, friend!
